When people arrive at a train station, many of them want to know how to get to Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. In this article we show you all the options.
There are basically three ways to get to the airport:
- by taxi
- by 200E bus
- by 100E buses
A taxi from East or West Railway Stations (Keleti and Nyugati) to the airport will cost around €30-40, but it depends on the traffic.
The buses do not leave from the main railway stations, so you will need to get to the bus stop by public transport (we provide instructions if you keep reading).
The 100E and 200E airport buses run 24 hours a day, every 8-15 minutes during the day and 1-2 times an hour in the early morning.
The 200E bus can be used with a regular BKK ticket or season ticket and is eligible for the free travel option for holders of Ukrainian documents until revoked.
The 100E bus, on the other hand, has a higher fare and requires a separate ticket to be purchased at the ticket office or from a ticket machine, costing В HUF 2200. Yet, it is easier and faster to get to the airport by this bus. Good news that it is now possible to buy tickets on the bus with a credit card.
Getting from the stations to the airport during the day by public transport using any of the routes listed takes approximately 1 hour.
The following routes are recommended from the Western Railway Station (Nyugati):
- M3 metro to the Kőbánya-Kispest terminus, then bus 200E to the airport. This route with Ukrainian papers is currently completely free of charge.
- M3 to Deák Ferenc tér and from there bus 100E to the airport. Even with Ukrainian papers you need to buy an airport bus ticket for this route!
From the Eastern Railway Station (Keleti) you have the following options:
- M2 metro to Deák Ferenc tér and from there M3 metro to the Kőbánya-Kispest terminus, and then bus 200E (free with Ukrainian papers!)
- M2 metro to Deák Ferenc tér and from there 100E bus to the airport (2200 HUF per person)
- M4 metro to Kálvin tér and from there: M3 metro to Kőbánya-Kispest and then 200E bus (free with Ukrainian papers!)
- M4 metro to Kálvin tér and from there 100E bus to the airport (2200 HUF/person)
From the Southern Railway Station (Déli Pályaudvar) you have the following options:
- Metro M2 to Deák Ferenc tér, and from there M3 metro to the Kőbánya-Kispest terminus, and then bus 200E (free with Ukrainian papers!)
- Metro M2 to Deák Ferenc tér, and from there 100E bus to the airport (2200В HUF)
From Kelenföld train station:
- M4 metro to Kálvin tér, then M3 metro to Kőbánya-Kispest terminus, and then bus 200E (free with Ukrainian papers!)
- M4 metro to Kálvin tér, then M3 metro to Kőbánya-Kispest terminus, and then 100E bus to the airport (2200В HUF/person)
In almost all cases the transfer point is either Deák Ferenc tér or Kálvin tér.
Please note that the metro does not run between 11:30 pm and 4:30 am. If you need to get to or from the airport during this period, you should use other means of transport. For route planning, we recommend using google maps or the route planner at https://bkk.hu.
